Alaska Overtime Laws
Alaska has stronger overtime protections than federal law. In addition to the federal 40-hour weekly overtime rule, Alaska requires daily overtime pay at 1.5 times the regular rate for any hours worked over 8 in a single workday. Alaska labor law also applies overtime to some workers not covered by federal FLSA. Alaska's daily overtime rule means that even if an employee works fewer than 40 hours in a week, they still receive overtime pay for any day where they worked more than 8 hours.
